What is a hard hand in blackjack?

A hard hand contains no Ace, or has an Ace counted as 1 to avoid busting. Hard 9, 10 and 11 are the most common double-down candidates because adding a ten-value card puts you near 21.

What is a soft hand in blackjack?

A soft hand includes an Ace counted as 11. Soft 17 means Ace plus 6. Because the Ace can flip to 1, soft hands carry less bust risk, making them eligible for doubling in many variants we carry.

What does double-down payout mean?

When you double down and win, your payout is 1:1 on the total staked — your original bet plus the double. A winning doubled 10-unit bet returns 20 units profit, same ratio as a normal winning hand.
